Dental Fillings and Root Canal Treatment
When the infection is in the outer layers of the tooth, the dentist will remove this infected portion, clean and treat the affected area and then ‘fill’ the area with a filling material to restore its shape and function.
Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken tooth and teeth that have been worn down from habits such as nail biting or tooth grinding.
We at Toothworks use tooth coloured composite fillings which are shaded to blend into the colour of your existing tooth, making them aesthetically appealing restoration that no one will ever notice.
Root canal treatment (RCT)
When the infection reaches the innermost layer of the tooth i.e. The pulp where there are nerves and vessels,it may cause severe pain and discomfort.
Instead of Removing such badly damaged tooth, Root canal treatment is performed to save it.
During RCT, your Dentist will remove the infected pulp and nerve in the root of the tooth, clean and shape the inside of the root canal and seal the space.
After the RCT , a crown (cap) is usually given to reinforce the strength of the tooth.
Our team of doctors here at toothworks perform each step of RCT with precision and ensure a smooth and painless procedure.
In certain situations, the RCT can be performed in a single appointment compared to the conventional 3-4 sittings.
At toothworks,we also offer single sitting RCTs.
